Subject Problems charging my 24V Trojan battery bank
Author Sascha

QUESTION:
--------
I have a 24V inverter/battery system and the battery bank never seems to come to full charge. In my system I use a Trace C40. Also I have tried using my generator through my SW4024's AC charge controller to charge the battery bank to full charge. I am using Trojan T105 batteries.

ANSWER:
-------
We've encountered this issue before. You should check the manufacturer's recommended charging settings for both of your charge controllers (solar and AC, in this case). We've found that the default settings frequently do not match what is recommended for a particular manufacturer's battery. You should be able to call your manufacturer for these settings or get this information right off their website. In your case, the settings for a 24V system with Trojan T105 batteries are:

Trojan T105
Float: 27.0V
Bulk: 29.6V
Equalization: 31.0V
