Subject Does my Solar Panel Mount need to be set in concrete?

Hello Ron,

In fact you MUST mount the top of pole mounts in concrete. The minimum diameter of the concrete is 3 times the mounting pipe's diameter - or 18" in the case of the large rack you are considering. The pole should be about 10' long - 5' in ground and 5' below ground. The size will vary slightly based on your soil type as well.
