QUESTION
----------------------------------------------------Is it safe to put my inverter in the engine compartment room of my gas-powered boat?

------------------------------------------------------

Answer: It is preferred that you not put your inverter in the engine room whether unleaded gas or diesel. This location should be avoided because it is possible your inverter may spark and with an unleaded gas powered engine it is a possible oil or gas may have spilled and light fire. It is also inappropriate to locate inverters in the same room as a diesel engine since high temperatures will accumulate in the room and cause the inverters to decrease in performance.
